Hello!
My name is Stephen, and welcome to Bedrock Personal Training. I am a Personal Trainer based at PureGym, Bidston, Wirral.
As a dedicated individual, my focus is on helping clients, both men and women, who are new
to exercise, returning after a break, or seeking to elevate their training beyond their current
level, whether that be gym based or performance focused. I have a keen interest in strength
and conditioning, muscle growth as well as increasing cardiovascular fitness. Through such
programmes, I believe this gives scope to address client needs such as: muscle development,
endurance development, weight loss, weight gain, strength increase, sports performance and
functionality.
My function, as a personal trainer, is not limited to the aspect of physical training but rather
expands towards your development of building an overall healthier lifestyle, physically and
mentally. Through a confidential consultation, exploring your fitness levels, lifestyle, health and nutrition, I aim to support you in exploring certain barriers, concerns and worries that are acting as obstacles, and work with you to create a solid foundation and a realistic framework to work within. I aim to provide you with the specific support and guidance required to achieve those important goals.
While I will create a supportive and positive environment, it is important to understand that I will challenge you and take you beyond your current levels of fitness, effectively and safely. You will be employing me to make the most of your time, and I intend on doing that, as your goals become my aims.
What to expect...
Education: I will share my knowledge and experience around exercise techniques, form, and fitness principles. I will never get you to undertake or perform any exercise or regime without a physical and theoretical understanding of it, and I will always explain the “why” behind the task and help you understand the benefits on your body. Being a qualified Personal Trainer, a qualified higher educational lecturer within Art & Theory and having years of training experience from combat sports, sports training and gym based training, I am able to offer a unique blend of information to maximise your training in a format that suits your needs.
Personalisation: Your programme will be based and focused on you and your goals, and your individual requirements. From the first point of contact to your final session, you are what this is about. It will be a continuous process that changes with your development.
Goal Setting: Whether you have a long term fitness goal or you are training for an upcoming event, I will break those goals down into realistic targets, helping you stay motivated and committed and prepare you efficiently to have the best chance of success.
Accountability: I have no doubt, and rightly so, that you will hold me accountable for the service and efforts that I provide. Equally, I will hold you accountable for the efforts you bring, in and out of sessions. I will give you 100% and I would like this to be reciprocated. As the old saying goes “You can bring a horse to water but you can’t make it drink”. There is only so much I can do. Your contribution will be vital in your development and success. However, working with you, I aim to build a solid foundation that allows you to succeed.
Time Efficiency: I will aim to construct a framework that optimises your time in the gym and what can be achieved in that time with your commitment. The sessions will last for 1 hour unless arranged otherwise. The session will include a Warm up, Main Session and a Cool down. Each component will play an important role in the quality of your success and the longevity of your fitness journey.
Challenging Workouts: I will safely and effectively, push you beyond your comfort zone. The workouts will be challenging, physically and mentally. If you train at a level of ease, you will not progress beyond that level. My job, is to correctly advance you towards your potential.
Nutritional Guidance: Nutrition plays a very important role in the development and maintenance of your physical and mental wellbeing. Nutritional guidance is not about looking to create deprivation, but rather the opposite. By creating a realistic and a maintainable intake of nutritious foods, you are able to eat well and feel good doing so. Though once again, to achieve certain goals, obstacles must be faced and overcome.
Mental Well-Being Support: I understand that a persons mental wellbeing can be their biggest battle, and not necessarily relating to fitness. Having worked and continuing to work within mental health services providing support to people in a crisis, I will use my experience to create a supportive environment. I will work with you and aim to create with you, a healthy framework for you to flourish physically and mentally.
